The Introductory Point of Care Ultrasound Course is a two day course that covers all the primary applications of emergency and bedside ultrasound. The course is arranged so lectures are given in the morning with concentrated hands on lab experience in the afternoon both days. The lab uses live models for a realistic training experience and we provide plenty of faculty coverage to ensure a significant hands on experience for each participant.
The Vascular Access Course is designed for anyone involved in vascular access. This course will teach you how to use ultrasound to improve your success rates and improve patient care when placing lines, both central and peripheral. We cover the basics of ultrasound and line placement with ultrasound and then spend a great deal of time in lab practicing placing lines in multiple different types of phantoms. Models are also use to practice identifying the anatomy and landmarks.
This two day course focuses primarily on ultrasound applications in the critically ill patient. This course contains some content similar to that found in the Introductory Course, but more focused for the ICU and emergency medicine physician. We cover basic topics initially then move through cardiac, vascular access, abdominal pathology and critical care ultrasound. Like all of our courses this two day course can be tailored for your group to cover just the topics you are interested in learning. This course is approved for 15.25 hours of Category I CME.
The Advanced Ultrasound Course is designed for students to learn more advanced techniques for the use of ultrasound at the bedside. Students are expected to have a good working knowledge of ultrasound prior to this course. We will cover topics from advanced cardiac ultrasound to pulmonary applications. This course also has extensive hands on training following lectures.
